Who We Are

We are four siblings who believe in the power of light. Each of us has different talents, from writing to composing to teaching, but we share a common goal: to craft awesome, creative, and inspiring works and share those works with the world.

Scripture Songs

Scriptures have power. Music has power. So why not combine the two? For two decades, our family has been setting key scripture texts to original melodies designed to bring out the texts’ meaning and impact.

“High in the wild northern sky, the cold north stars are shining . . .”

Doria: My Life in a Dwarf Mine

During our teen years, we liked to pretend our house was a dwarf mine. We made up characters to populate it and sent them on fantastic adventures. Now Tyler (under the pseudonym V.A. Laurence) is gathering our stories into an epic novel. Chapters will be published serially on this website.

The Poetry Rivalry

Four siblings . . . four poetry slam contests . . . only three winners. Laugh at the epic story of our high school rivalry, and then read the poems that it produced.

Hiking the Tetons

Majestic mountains, racing riders, dangerous dragons, and sapphire streams—all of these themes and more can spring from a youth’s imagination. Weaving these ideas into melodies, Hiking the Tetons presents 18 original piano compositions written by CJ Madsen between the ages of 10 and 16.
